Introduction
John Cena is back in the news. The WWE star is near the end of his long wrestling career. On Wednesday night, he made a big move on the WWE show NXT. He picked a new star to join his last tournament. Fans are now talking about it all over the world.
What Happened
Cena showed up on NXT on November 4, 2026. NXT is WWE’s show for young stars. Cena asked Zilla Fatu to join the John Cena Classic. The Classic is a special tournament. It will pick the star who faces Cena in his last match.
Fatu is the son of the late WWE star Umaga. Umaga was a big WWE star in the 2000s. Cena told Fatu that he loved his dad. He also named Fatu’s famous family. The family has stars like Roman Reigns, The Usos, Rikishi, and The Rock. Fatu was moved by the words. He said yes with a big smile.
Why People Are Talking About It
Fans love this story for two clear reasons. First, Cena and Umaga had a great rivalry in 2006 and 2007. Cena was a young WWE champion at that time. Umaga was one of his toughest rivals. Now Cena has picked Umaga’s son for his last run.
Second, Cena is close to the end of his career. He has been a WWE star for more than 20 years. Every move he makes now feels big to fans. The Classic will take place on December 14, 2026. It will air as a special edition of Raw. Cody Rhodes was also named as a star in the tournament. Fans now wait to see who else Cena will pick.
What Happens Next
Cena will keep picking stars for the Classic in the weeks to come. More names will be shared on WWE shows. The tournament will then decide his last opponent. Fans will watch every step of the road to December 14. Cena’s last match will close a long and famous career.
Final Thoughts
Cena’s pick of Fatu is a kind and smart move. It honors a late star and lifts up a new one. It also shows why fans still love Cena after so many years. The road to his last match has now begun.
